Shenandoah National Park – Skyline Drive
I think that this park would be worthwhile even if you were unable to hike a single trail – Skyline Drive is such a mesmerizing drive.

Some of our parks are not exotic destinations, but rather small pockets of greenspace in their community that offer outdoor leisure to the locals. Most of these parks would not be on a vacation list, but they make for perfectly acceptable ways to spend some time in the sun amongst friends.
Asheville, NC
Asheville is known for being a little bit edgy with a whole lot of southern comfort food. We were not disappointed. You can also shop for the rare and unusual.
Vogel State Park
While our visit to Vogel was brief, it was the perfect outing for our travel afternoon. For those with a little more time to spend in the park, there are additional hiking opportunities ranging from 4-mile Bear Hair Gap loop to the challenging 13-mile Coosa Backcountry Trail.
Johnson Creek Greenway
One of my goals with Jeeptographer is to document the beauty that can be found in your own backyard. Distant travel can be expensive and time consuming, and while exotic vacations are fun, I need more frequent communes with nature to keep my spiritual batteries charged.

The Biltmore Gardens are an excellent way to spend a summer afternoon, with plenty of variety and color to delight the senses.
Whitewater Rafting: Chattooga IV
This is an adventure that I would urge anyone to take. It feels exceptionally adventurous while still being very safe. The guide is knowledgable and prepared, as well as there being several other boats and several other guides who are also on the same team to help tackle any unexpected undertakings. Even as an overly cautious introvert, I felt prepared and confident in everything that we did because our guide talked it through what to expect and what to do if things went unexpectedly.

Everything that was served to our table felt like a culinary work of art, and we all left in a blissful carb-loaded food coma.
